Rooftop Lullaby

“The heavens proclaim the glory of God.
    The skies display his craftsmanship.”

Psalm 19:1

When sun sets and darkness rises

And the moon hangs above my head

Like a nightlight through the window

It illuminates my bed

I listen to the stars, as silently they share

Of the God who created them

And hung them way out there

Rooftop lullaby Rooftop lullaby

When winds and rain and sky

Whisper of the grace and mercy

Of a God who lives up high

When the sun sets over the ocean

And waves echo in the night

With sand between my toes

And glow of moonlight

I stretch out and listen to the wind

Tell stories from the heavens

Of Jesus, my close friend

Rooftop lullaby Rooftop lullaby

When winds and rain and sky

Whisper of the grace and mercy

Of a Son who came to die

When I stand at the foot of mountains

With a gentle breeze upon my face

And the peaks disappear in clouds

And my heart and mind, they race

As I hold my arms out beside me

And wonder at the God above

Who created all this for me

Out of his great mercy and love

I sing

Rooftop lullaby Rooftop lullaby

When mountains and the sea

Whisper of the grace and mercy

Of a God who gave his life for me
